Through the fifth week of the 2021 NFL Season, teams are starting to find their footing within division standings and intraconference games. As almost always, our beloved Hilltopper Football alumni are always within arm’s reach of the action.

Starting off the week’s events:

The Los Angeles Rams traveled to Seattle for an NFC West showdown against the Seahawks. Earlier in the week, Tyler Higbee was questionable to an ankle injury. He returned just in time to be cleared for last Thursday. He did not disappoint in his appearance as he accounted for a touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford:

The Rams were victorious 26–17. They’re in second place in the division behind the undefeated Cardinals. Including the touchdown pass, Higs caught two receptions for 16 yards.

Sunday morning, The (gridiron) football world was treated to a game at London’s Wembley Stadium between the Jets and the Falcons. George Fant played left tackle on all 56 snaps on offense in the 27–20 loss. Mike White did not play.

Deon Yelder was inactive during the Buccaneers 45–17 win over the Dolphins.

Joel Iyiegbuniwe did not play in the Bears' 20–9 win over the Raiders.

Finally, on Monday Night Football, a matchup between the Colts & Ravens transpired into an overtime frenzy. The Ravens squeaked one out with the final score of 31–25. Jack Doyle spent most of the game on blocking duties at the tight end position. He did have one reception for four yards in the loss.

Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses.
